On twitter I provide a lot of social media tips. They are generally applications that I come across or tips on using applications. If they are useful to me or I think they may be useful to you so I share them out. If we follow each other on twitter you probably still miss most of them so here is 5 of them again. Let me know if it’s useful and I’ll provide more soon.
Tip 1 – Refollow
refollow is a useful tool for managing your twitter account. You can group your tweets, view the important users you should be following, batch unfollow/follow and much more. Well worth checking it out.
Tip 2 – Meebo
If you want to communicate realtime across multiple communication channels Meebo is a good tool to use. For example if you are a user of instant messaging – msn, yahooo, gtalk, jabber, icq etc.
Tip 3 -Tweetstats
Check out http://www.tweetstats.com for very interesting information on the tweets you sent, when you sent them, how often you sent them etc. If you are sending them on all at the week-end you know you have something to worry about. I found that Friday afternoon was when I sent most, that says something for twitter…..
Tip 4 – Google Alerts by country
This allows you to set up an alert where you get an e-mail sent to you if whatever you want to be alerted about is mentioned on the internet. For example, your company name. However, with Google alerts you can set up any search that is valid when you search on google so you can really narrow down and define your search. For example you can say that you only want to view mentions of your company name if it was mentioned in Ireland. This gives you a more focussed e-mail every day.
Tip 5 – Flickr Creative Commons licensing
If you are looking for pictures to include in your blog post do an advanced search within Flickr and put the option on for ‘Creative commons licensing’. With this you can generally include the picture in your blog for free as long as you reference the original owner.
There you go, if one of these is useful to you then it was worth writing it up. Have you any social media tips/tricks you’d like to share?
