The first day of social media forum was quite interesting and there were lots of interesting statistics that I thought would be interesting to share. Here you go:

  • You have a 35% chance of 1,000 views on YouTube and 0.3% for 10,000 views
  • 71% of companies say that social media is handled by one department.
  • 30% of all tickets sold for the Royal Opera House are sold through Facebook
  • 68% increase in brand life and 25% lift in action rate with advertisements in a social context
  • 50% of revenue in Farmville (facebook game) is from social advertising and virtual gifts
  • We are 3 times more likely to trust peers over advertising
  • 1 out of every 11 minutes spent online is in a community
  • 10.6 million blog posts mention social media last month
  • 4% of Facebook pages have greater than 10,000 fans.
  • There are 500,000 Facebook applications but only 1,000 have more than 100 monthly active users
  • NEXT (retailer) campaign on Facebook – they received 100,000 votes through Facebook and gained 32,000 fans in 22 days.

What do you think? Have you any more statistics you can add?
